After much research, 2022 sees the addition of the Viola skirt.
It’s made from TENCEL™ Lyocell - a lovely fabric derived from sustainably grown wood primarily derived from FSC® and PEFC™ certified responsible forestry, using an award-winning unique closed loop system. The manufacturers provide safe and respectable working conditions for their employees, made in countries with decent environmental and social laws.
The luxurious, exceptionally soft fabric is perfect for Freda Silk dance skirts. The fabric I've chosen is a plain single jersey with elastic stretch. The finish is made with singeing and mercerisation, which adds a unique luxurious touch to both look and feel. I'm really impressed by the lightness and comfort of this fabric.

TENCEL™ in nature’s cycle
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres are extracted from sustainably grown wood using a unique closed loop system which recovers and reuses the solvents used, minimising the environmental impact of production.
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres help to maintain the environmental balance by being integrated into nature´s cycle. The fibers originate from the renewable raw material wood, created by photosynthesis. The certified biobased fibres are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process.
Most TENCEL™ fibres - Lyocell included - have been certified as biodegradable and compostable under industrial, home, soil, freshwater, and marine conditions, and can fully revert to nature. When you choose clothes or home textiles with TENCEL™ fibres, you are not just enjoying the benefits of a nature-derived fibre; you are influencing a better tomorrow too.
