Costume Commissions
From small dance school productions to internationally acclaimed ballet companies, I love bringing costume projects to life.

London City Ballet "Haieff Divertimento", 2025
I was commissioned to recreate the original costumes from George Balanchine’s “lost” ballet, originally designed for and performed by the New York City Ballet. The project began when London City Ballet (LCB) asked me to create a single dress for a promotional photo shoot. Following that, I was commissioned to produce costumes for the entire cast for their 2025 tour.

Northern Ballet: Sketches Project "Longing For Spring Breeze" choreography George Liang, 2025
Sketches was conceived by Federico Bonelli, Artistic Director of Northern Ballet, as a platform to nurture emerging talent in dance. The program offers an intimate glimpse into the creative process, stripping ballet down to its purest elements.

George’s piece, inspired by a classic Taiwanese Hokkien song, tells the poignant story of a young maiden waiting beneath a dim lamp, her heart fluttering at the sight of a handsome passerby. When a sudden sound stirs the night air, she rushes to the door—only to find it was just the wind, as the moon quietly laughs at her hopeful longing.

I collaborated closely with George to design a two-piece costume for Alessandre Bramante that evokes the essence of spring, softened by layers of fluttering chiffon. Drawing inspiration from the structure of a classical ballet bodice, we also wanted to infuse the design with a modern, fashion-led feel. I explored a range of Dior dresses, borrowing shapes and silhouettes to help bring that vision to life.

Northern Ballet: Sketches Project "Two Souls" choreography George Liang, 2024
"Two Souls” explores the deep connection between two female dancers. It’s not necessarily about romance, but about finding that one person who truly understands you.

I designed one shouldered dresses for dancers Saeka Shirai, Julie Nunes, made from a soft neutral mesh fabric. We wanted them to be simple, elegant and a joy to dance in.

Northern Ballet: Sketches Project "Sky Above, Voices Within" choreography George Liang, 2024/25
This was such a pleasure to do. George asked me to make long black chiffon skirts for the two male dancers. Simple, one circle fullness was all this needed to compliment Kevin Poeung and Ruben Reuter's movement in this moving piece.

The dancers went on to perform "Sky Above, Voices Within" at the Royal Opera House in London. Such an achievement. 2024/2025

Brooks Dance Academy at Sussex Festival, 2025
The dance teacher commissioned a set of dresses based on the Two Souls costume. Each one custom made and in a subtle range of pastel mesh fabric.

Ballet Black: Pulse, "Creatures", 2025
Senior Artist and Choreographer Isabela Coracy invited me to create this skirt for "Creatures", her choreographic debut with Ballet Black. She shared her vision, and I brought it to life for dancer Megan.
